I have been observing the palette of materials that are existing within the site. The majority of the materials are standard industrial materials such as metal sheeting and cladding. However, there are elements of brick constructed buildings, and timber windows; aesthetics which would be related more to the domestic scale. There's a wide variety of applications and patterns across the site, and I aim to document some of them in order to gain inspiration for the proposed building but also as a point of reference, for details that I may replicate when retaining elements of the building:

Aluminium / Metal Sheeting
Cladding Panels
Other Metallic Cladding & Concrete
I will also observe the greenery and landscaping around the site. There is actually a significant amount of greenery on the site despite it being used for manufacturing. I would like to incorporate the greenery to create a less 'sterile' environment, as this palette may have the danger of looking too clinical; but the palette also has the potential to be aesthetically pleasing and create some interesting designs and perspectives within the site.
