Supernormal stimuli is a man-made stimuli that amplifies natural instincts to an unnatural degree. By lifting mankind onto a pedestal , an anthropocentric narrative is pushed making us believe that we are more powerful than the natural environment, and we can create the best environment suited for us. These collages articulate the notion of 'If we can, then why not?'. Demonstrating how we are creating environments which are 'supernormal', and we're feeding these narratives, not as an alternative, but as a way of regular living.

Superyacht? Anyone?

When a regular yacht is not enough, why not get a superyacht? Let's take over the waters.

(Wal)King Tall

We've colonised the rainforests, so why not conquer our own built environment? Let's take the natural environment, create Shanghai and prove we've made it. 20 years. We're kings after all. Let us create the perfect u(rban)topia.

If you can, why not?

Refillable multi-use water bottles are a thing of the past. If you're looking for disposable methods of containing drinking water again, but don't want to pollute the earth with dreaded plastic, then do it in style with Austrian canned water. Water tastes better when it has been accommodated in metal anyway. Mmmmmmm...

Honey, we've turned the city upside down

Walking around in beige clothes never looked so good(!) Turn the city upside down in style...

What u looking at?

We've attempted to transform deserts into cities, but we can't seem to overcome this barren landscape besides some basic road construction... Let's mix it up with a little bit of brutalism, maybe that'll make things better. But don't take note of what we're doing. We're watching you too...

{The process: These collages are all analogue, created from cut-outs from Magazines, creating slices through the images in order to produce a layered effect in the collages}
